Two, Three, Four, Five

This evening I walked into my room to a spider the size of a smart car. It was the kind of spider with muscular looking legs.

Two things went through my mind when I encountered the ugly, not little, thing.

  1. I wish I had muscular legs.
  2. I should probably kill it.

How does one kill a spider the size of a semi you might ask? With 50 paper towels. Actually, for future reference, I’d probably use a little less than 50 cause at one point I lost it in the mass of paper and I…might have…thrown it across the room.

This past week I’ve been burning Christmas candles. Because…

  1. Nothing smells better than Christmas Candles.
  2. I’m still trying to get rid of the ones I bought from last year so I can get new ones again this year.
  3. Can we all just stop and throw some confetti in the air because Christmas is exactly four months away?

Oh my goodness in less than a month I’ll be taking my younger sister down to Pasadena to See the band One Direction with some friends.

  1. Yes, we like them.
  2. Yes, we are excited.
  3. Yes, we are adult women.
  4. No, we don’t care.

Good and bad Monday things:

  1. Coffee – Also known as my personal defibrillator.
  2. Feeling like I’ve been hit by a car – An awesome feeling to wake up to…k just kidding.
  3. Working out – I either feel like Wonder Woman when I finish…or like I’m dead.  Either way I’m happy about it.
  4. Passport office closing an hour before I get there – Hi, the worst.
  5. Emmys – Super enjoyable to watch.

Love,

We made it through Monday.

What Things Mean

Football is here. And yes, I do realize that it’s only pre-season but I don’t even care. Football is here.

That also means that Fantasy football is here.

That also means that Colin and I are going to fight.

And that means that I might take this thing a little too seriously.

And that means that I’m actually 100% more competitive than I think I am.

That means that I’m in Denial.

And that means that I might have issues.

What I mean by that is…well, I might have spent all day today wishing and waiting for someone…anyone, I would have taken a random stranger even, to tell me that I didn’t have to work out….It never happened.

So that means that I worked out.

And that means that I sweat like a maniac.

And that also means that I felt good after I finished.

That also means that I definitely needed to shower.

Which means that I had to brush my hair afterward.

Which also means that I cried at the thought of brushing my hair.

Which of course means that I didn’t actually cry.

That means that I exaggerate.

So that means that I might be inclined to say that it seems like Fall is five million years away because hello, can it come already?

And that might mean that I’m impatient.

But it also means that I’m really just excited.

Because Fall means pumpkin spice coffee creamer and scarves and the smell of the heater coming on early in the morning and football…and football is here!

And that means that I’ve come full circle.

So that means that I’m done.

Love,

CAM

That means Candace Aileen Mann

And that means…K just kidding.

Major Life Events Part Two

Hi. Chill out. I know I haven’t blogged in probably three years, but chill.

Since I haven’t been on here in, like I said, ten years…I thought that I would tell the entire world about all of the major life events that have happened to me since then. In the form of a list, of course. Because how else am I supposed to blog? In paragraphs? I don’t think so.

  1. I did a DIY project on my little brother’s old bookcase recently and I’m super excited that it wasn’t a failure.  Also. My dad helped me where screws, wood glue, and electric saws were required. I did the hammering and nailing though, so I guess that means I’m tough or something.

Anyway, here’s a pic of it Before…I had already taken the shelves out and started to sand the top when it occurred to me to take a picture…and oh, I’m a photographer by the way. Let’s pretend and maybe even hope this won’t happen when it comes to my kids.

On second thought, that’s not going to be a problem.

In Progress

Annnnd here’s some pictures of it finished! So, I only put one shelf back in, lined the back of it with an old pallet board that I (My Dad) deconstructed and then I (I really mean me this time, don’t worry.) sanded. Once the back was on I bought some coat hangers at Cost Plus and the little baskets from Target. The rest was pretty simple. We put the legs on the bottom and the paint was done ahead of time. My dad helped me put a little jewelry rack on the side…and by little, I really mean little because has anyone ever seen me wear a necklace ever in my life?

Just kidding that was a lie, I wear jewelry ok?….like once every six months.

So um, that’s it. And I like it.

  1. A couple days ago I learned that cameras are breakable. And they’ll most likely do it at 1:30 AM, less than twelve hours from when I may or may not have an important job.
  2. A couple days ago I learned that in situations like the one above, I may or may not let a string of profanities out of my mouth.
  3. On Monday I ran for the first time since March…March, people.  I had this whole idea in my head before I went that it was just gonna be as easy as it was when I stopped and I would be totally fine.  Hi.  I now know how it feels when a lung explodes.
  4. I’m so ready for fall. It is literally so close and I’m way too excited. Everything gets better in the fall and I just. Cannot. Wait.
  5. Since the Rodeo, I kind of just want to hang off the side of a horse and ride it upside down.
  6. Since the Rodeo, I’ve also decided that I probably should not attempt it.
  7. Recently I’ve realized that I’ve read 39 books in the last year. Maybe this is a tiny amount compared to what some people read in a year, but for me that’s a ton and I’m totally digging it.
  8. I’m out.
